Mobius strip

“You’re nuts Miss King!” I yelled inside my head. Miss King wanted us to try making the Mobius strip and do different experiments with it. Last time I did it, at my cousin’s house, I did it by the back gate which is connected to a river, I didn’t know WHAT to do with it now, so I grabbed all of it and chucked it in the river. It floated a bit in the current, then stopped at some rocks, and clogged up the river. Bad memories it was.

So I wasn’t that excited about it but Miss King made us do it anyway. First we all got a long, thin piece of paper, put it round in a circle, twist one side over, then tape it. then we a crayon, and drew a line in the middle until it reached the start. Afterwards we got a pair of scissors, and cut across the strip until it reached the start again. It became bigger.

Miss King called us to sit on the ground. As Miss King inspected our strips, She announced that Jordenne had done a tricky one and indeed she had. The strip, instead of being just bigger, an extra circle was connected as well! That amazed me, but I still didn’t want to do anymore strips.

Marbles rule! pt3: The fight for Rube Goldburg's marble paradise

There's a boy out there who makes me wonder, who has the best chain reaction thingy? Our one was really good, but what if his one is better? Audri's one is a monster trap, and our one is like The Deadly Marble Coaster (except safer). I think it's time we put the 2 kinds to the test........(P.S: FIRST WATCH THE CHAIN REACTIN' MOVIE!)

It's real name is Archimedes in HD. WARNING: its auctually ripped some-one's hand off. That's why it's called The deadly marble coaster.

Dr Ben Carson

It was the 6th of March 2012 when year 5 to 8 from Pt England were going to the Telstra Clear Pacific Events Center to see Dr Ben Carson tell us about his life as a Neurosurgeon.

Streaming out the bus and in to the building, there were eye-catching paintings on the huge panels. I saw this really cool one, but as there was so much noise I could barely hear myself think.

My class sat on the 8th row on the stadium seats. “You sit there! Stop talking! Don’t even think of sitting next to your friends!” The teachers shouted. SLAP!! “You thought of it!!” This was increasing the noise. All of sudden, the Duffy song started. Everyone sang along except for me.

A man called Henry told us this really funny story, “...And Juju lips.” he ended. Suddenly, this other man walked up on stage and took his place. “It’s Dr Ben Carson!” Shalom shouted in my ear. I shuddered. Not because I was scared of him. It was ‘cause Shalom had shouted in my ear.

Dr Ben told us his life story of how he started out as a short-tempered boy whose nickname from other people was ‘dummy’ (Basically ‘cause he only got D’s & F’s). He also did really horrible things; like give someone 5 stitches, almost hit his mother with a hammer (fortunately his brother caught it in his hand and took it away), and nearly stabbed someone with a knife. Luckily there was a metal belt under his clothes which broke and protected him.

His behaviour made him so scared that he turned his life around and worked hard to become a neurosurgon. After he split conjoined twins - joined at the head, succsesfully, he was known as the world’s most famous brain surgeon.

Stop! picnic time!

At last, the day had come. Pt england were going to our newly built beach. After everything was sorted,I ran off to play in the sand.

I ran to the seniors side were I saw some boys building a foot wash. I asked them if I could help. "Yes" they replied. Thats when Shalom came with a plastic bag that he found in the ocean. We then filled up the foot wash. I dipped my foot in and ran. Shalom threatened to wet me.

When I was in the clear, I helped Mosa build a little pit. Eventually Lee came back with some clayballs that we were planning to bury in the sand so next year we could dig them up and work on a bigger pit until we got 200 clayball. I did the math and found out that we'll be in colledge if we keep going at this rate. But Lee was still keen on it so I decided to keep on going too.
I just can't wait to go back.
